Prepare now

Prepare before the wind picks up

A few hours of preparation today can keep your people safe and your site running after the storm.

Protect your people

01
Confirm your emergency plan, your contact list and who should stay home.
02
Follow your local officials and evacuation orders.
03
Charge phones and radios, and save the numbers you will need, including ours.

Protect your fuel and power

01
Top off generator day tanks and bulk storage while roads are still open.
02
Know how many hours your backup power can run at your actual load.
03
Check stored fuel for water and sediment, and keep spare filters on hand.
04
Give our drivers clear access: gate codes, an on-site contact and a clear path to the fill point.
05
Secure hoses and loose equipment, close tank valves, and anchor above-ground tanks in flood-prone areas.

Generator safety

Run portable generators outdoors only, away from doors, windows and vents. Never run one inside a home, garage or any enclosed space.

Shut the generator off and let it cool before refueling, and store fuel in approved containers away from living areas.
